We conducted a survey of 200 influencers on the ParentStars database in February 2023 to find out how much they charge for posting on Instagram.

The results, as you’d expect, showed a steady increase in fees depending on the number of followers.

Perhaps less expected was the wide variation in fees within the same follower tiers.

So while follower numbers are a baseline indication of fees, other factors such as quality of photography, having a clear brand image and perhaps influencer confidence have an effect on how much they charge.

There are no figures here for how much influencers charge brands to use their photography on brand social channels and websites but case studies indicate that brands consider influencer generated content as extremely cost effective compared to conventional photo shoots.

Whilst creators with less than 5K followers may still consider parting with imagery in return for gifted items, more established influencers are moving away from this practice and starting to gain confidence in their value to brands.
